The annual grand festival

The festival of shrine falls on the second Sunday after Easter. The devotees of ‘Gods mother’ come and pry to “the grate mother on this occasion in thousand they come far and near. It is one of the significant church festivals In Kerala. The flag hosting before ten days marks the beginning of the festival. “Nithyasahayaamrtham” will also be blessed during the festival days. 

Saturday are festal days to mattom

Mariyan devotees from several places gathered at this shrine for the special prayers like Marian novena ladeengu of the day. The devotes say that  special grace are achieved by taking part  in such observations .In Mattom shrine we celebrate these and Saturday as monthly festival especially  with band set and procession we are especially thanks to Fr. Sebastian Vellanikkaran the founder of  Saturday observation.
